AI & Data for Disaster Management Event

We’re pleased to invite you to a timely and high-level convening: AI & Data for Disaster Management – Preparing for the FIFA World Cup, hosted at the University of Pennsylvania on July 31, 2025.
Please join us for breakfast, followed by a closed-door workshop and panel discussion, co-hosted by AI for Good at Meta, Direct Relief/CrisisReady, and the Computational Social Science Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. A zoom option will also be available.
This session will bring together elected officials, emergency response agencies, researchers, and private sector leaders to explore how cutting-edge AI and novel data sources can enhance disaster preparedness, particularly in the context of high-profile events like the FIFA World Cup.
We’ll examine how predictive mobility models can support real-time crisis response, how crowdsourced infrastructure data can enhance situational awareness on the ground, and how generative AI tools—such as Meta’s LLaMA and Segment Anything—can improve coordination and decision-making across agencies during high-pressure disaster scenarios.
The discussion will also highlight emerging opportunities for bipartisan collaboration, data-sharing frameworks, and the integration of these tools into emergency workflows to better serve constituents across the region.
📍 Location: Amy Gutmann Hall, University of Pennsylvania (Zoom option is also available.)
🗓️ Date and Time: July 31, 2025, 9 AM EST – 3:30 PM EST
🤝 Co-hosts: Meta (AI for Good), Direct Relief/CrisisReady, Penn (Computational Social Science Lab)
